How are the search results created in Cerech?

For searches where no users have submitted a page, we get results from the Brave Search API as well as our own crawler. A user, webmaster, or topic curator can add a result to a search phrase. After being verified, it will go into a testing queue.

This testing queue pits URLs against each other for search terms. Users, not algorithms, then decide which one is better. After several rounds of testing, winners and losers are shown for that search phrase in their respective ranking positions.

Problems solved: Backlink spam pages are not required. SEO tricks don't work anymore. Only good-quality pages will make it to the top of the results.

Why would a webmaster want to use Cerech?

With the other major search engines, webmasters must constantly deal with algorithm changes affecting their rankings. So one day, you are at the top of the results, and then poof, an algorithm decided machine-written spam should outrank you.

There is also a content arms race, all due to what other search engines require. For example, once 2,000 words were acceptable, but now the other results have 2500, so now you need 2600.

We can stop all the games and let the users, the most critical web stakeholders, decide the best pages.

Problems solved: Creating content for search engines and not people.

Our whole product is built around you! We think that great results will rise to the top with enough testing. You will no longer have to wade through censored results, SEO spam, and dubious content that may be financially beneficial to the corporate search engines.

We also take privacy very seriously. Cerech does not track your searches or share any information with 3rd parties. Please read our privacy policy for more info.

Do you track my searches?

We do not track searches for any user. That is true for both logged-in or anonymous users. We keep track of the total number of searches performed for a keyword, but that is it.

If you add a keyword / URL result to your profile for tracking or testing, that information will be tied to your account.

Do I need an account to use Cerech?

You do not need an account to perform searches on the Cerech site. If you want to track search results or run tests, you will need an account.
